📖 Internet-of-Things and Sensors

  • IoT comprises devices, sensors(주변 환경 인식, 탐지, 데이터를 서버로 전달), networks and applications
  • Flow
    Acquire data form sensors -> Send the data to serners and cloud through the internet for storage and analysis -> Data is visualized in an application

📖 What is a sensor?

  • Sensor is an "input device"" providing output(i.e. signal) with respect to specific quantity and measures phtsical properties such ad temperature and resistance
  • Input device provides input to a main control system such as processor or microcontroller
  • Color Sensor, Gas Sensor, LDR(Light Sensor), Proximity Sensor, Thermistor(Tempertature Sensor), Smoke Sensor, Alcoho Sensor, LM35(Temperature Sensor), Rain Sensor, PIR Sensor, Water Flow Sensor, IR Receiver, Ultrasonic Sensor, Soil Moisture Sensor, Gyroscope(지구의 중력을 사용, 각속도 감지, 방향 감지), Photo Transistor(Light Sensor), Humidity Sensor, Touch Sensor, IR Sensor(Reflective Type, Transmissive Type), Heartbear Sensor... etc

1. Temperature Sensor

  • Measure changes in the temperature
  • Applications : computer, AC(에어컨), automobiles, etc.

2. Proximity Sensor / Infrared Sensor(IR Sensor)

  • Proximity Sensor detects the presence of object
  • Infrared Sensor is light based sensor and used a proximity sensors in mobile phones
  • Applications : mobile phones(전화 통화시 얼굴이 휴대폰 화면 가까이 있으면 이를 인식하여 자동으로 화면이 꺼진다), cars(parking assistance), etc.
